Sound Mind brings together musicians and forward-thinking organizations to build community and open dialogue around mental health. As wellbeing became a focus amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, I joined the team as a Production Coordinator.
Over a year and a half of continuous work with the organization, I delivered a series of impactful projects, ranging from livestreamed music festivals to digital content partnerships and workplace programs.

Playing Through the Changes
Sound Mind produced four distinct livestreamed digital productions over the course of the pandemic, “Playing Through the Changes.” Each event featured recorded performances by musical artists, as well as in-depth panel conversations with mental health experts and folks in the music industry.
I managed the end-to-end production of these events, including meeting recordings, asset collection, audio mixing and mastering the final edited piece for broadcast. Initially, I used the poster designs provided to us to create a collection of digital assets (meeting backgrounds, lower thirds, and full-screen slates). For the final two streams, I created a holistic visual package from scratch; examples are shown above.
Collectively, these events garnered 300,000+ impressions, 80,000+ active viewers and paved the way for in-person programming, where I continued to oversee the digital livestream production, streamed in partnership with TikTok and YouTube Health.

Workplace Mental Health
Using music as a unique entry point, Sound Mind expanded into the realm of workplace mental health, delivering impactful performances and programs for recognizable brands, including Trane, Verizon, ThriveNYC and Sage Therapeutics.
I managed the digital execution of these events, with specific responsibilities including creating presentation materials and moderating online meetings.
In addition, we launched a content partnership with Kaiser Permanente. One output was the Presence of Mind Initiative, which enabled the organization’s own mental health experts to address questions from music artists.
988 PSA
One of my final responsibilities with the team was to edit a promotional video for the launch of 988, a nationwide 3-digit lifeline to help people having a suicidal or mental health crisis.
